Scarborough residents invited to Harbour Strategy public forum
Meeting to address Scarborough Harbour's future plans
Last updated 19th Mar 2026
Scarborough Town Council will host a Harbour Strategy Meeting today, 19th March, inviting public engagement on the future of Scarborough's port.
The forum is scheduled to take place between 6pm and 8pm at The Royal Hotel's ballroom on St. Nicholas Street.
North Yorkshire Council's Harbours Strategy presents a 10-year vision to rejuvenate Scarborough Harbour along with Whitby Harbour and Filey Coble Landing.
The Council, now recognised as the statutory harbour authority after the 2023 local government reorganisation, strives to maintain safe, sustainable, and economically viable harbours.
The meeting aims to gather public insights and questions specifically concerning the Scarborough Harbour aspect of the strategy.
Feedback from the forum is expected to guide Scarborough Town Council's official stance on the strategy.
Residents are encouraged to submit any questions before the meeting via email at [email protected] .
For those unable to attend but wishing to contribute, queries and comments can also be emailed to the same address.
