Romanian men jailed for stabbing man in Scarborough
The fled the country hours after the attack
Two Romanian men who carried out what police are calling a vicious assault on a man in Scarborough have been jailed.
Officers were called out to West Park Terrace in January last year and found a man who'd been stabbed in the chest.
The court heard how 23-year-old Laurentiu Ardeleanu and 27-year-old Gheorghita Zamacali continued to assault the victim after stabbing him.
They only stopped when they heard police sirens.
They fled the UK within hours of the attack but were arrested over three weeks later when they arrived via Euro Tunnel.
Ardeleanu pleaded guilty to wounding and has been jailed for two-and-a-half-years.
Zamacali admitted wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and has been jailed for five-years.
