A North Yorkshire Mum says she will spend the 'rest of her life' missing her 8 year old son - who died after being hit by a car.
Joshua Slater was killed on Somerset Close at Catterick Garrison in September 2023.
An inquest held at Northallerton Coroner's Court heard how Joshua was struck by a white Land Rover as the driver tried to park.
The woman behind the wheel insists she didn't see Joshua and was driving carefully in the moments before the collision.
She says she didn't know what happened when she felt something under her wheels.
The Coroner ruled he died as a result of a road traffic accident.
Joshua's mum Kirsty Slater gave this statement:
“Being Joshua’s mummy was the best 8 years of my life. I could only wish to impact the amount of people he did. The amount of love Joshua has been shown just shows what an amazing boy he is.
"I will spend the rest of my life missing Joshua. My heart will never heal but I am honoured I was able to be his mummy.
"To be his best friend. To be his sidekick. Even if it was for such a short space of time, it was the best 8 years of my life.”
