Teenage photographer Liz Hatton remembered in North Yorkshire
Today (31/8) would have been her 18th Birthday
Liz Hatton is being remembered today in North Yorkshire on what would have been her 18th Birthday.
The teenager and photographer from Harrogate was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer in January last year and died just ten months later.
She even inspired the Princess of Wales after pursuing her photography bucket list and was invited to take pictures of the Prince of Wales.
The bucket list appeal started just after her diagnosis when she was given six months to three years to live.
To celebrate her 18th Birthday her family have now asked people to display or share some of her photographs online to remember her and her amazing talent.
The family are also continuing to fundraise and raise awareness of what an an aggressive desmoplastic small round cell tumour is.
Her Mum Victoria said:
"We just want to make the day to be a real celebration about Liz and hopefully fundraiser a bit more for Capture at the same time, but have a day where we think about how wonderful she is and not a day sat at home feeling sad as she definitely wouldn't have approved of that."
"If Liz's story has taught us one thing, her big legacy has to be to that you can live no matter what is going on in your life you can find a way to truly live, to truly make your dreams come true and make some brilliant memories."
As part of her bucket list, she also went on to photograph comedian Michael McIntyre, circus performers, the Royal Ballet, models from the Storm Model Agency, the London Air Ambulances from a helipad, hotel doormen, the red carpet at the MTV Europe Music Awards, and joined acclaimed British photographer Rankin to lead a fashion shoot.
