75-year-old man's body pulled from water in Whitby

A 75-year-old man has been pulled from the water in Whitby and pronounced dead.
Emergency services were called out to Khyber Pass at around 6pm yesterday (8th February) to concerns about a man in the water.
Members of the public managed to bring the man to shore, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Formal identification is yet to take place, but the man's family has been informed.
His death is not believed to be suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said, "We would like to thank everyone involved, especially the members of the public who risked their own safety in an effort to save him."
