Kaiser Chiefs are heading to the Yorkshire coast next summer for a headline show at Scarborough Open Air Theatre.

The Leeds indie band will play the venue on Friday 11th June 2027.

It will be their first appearance there since they last headlined the seaside venue in 2021.

Tickets go on sale on Friday.

The band's line-up is Ricky Wilson on vocals, Simon Rix on bass, Andrew 'Whitey' White on guitar, Nick 'Peanut' Baines on keyboards and Vijay Mistry on drums.

Formed in 2000, Kaiser Chiefs are known for anthemic hits including Oh My God, I Predict A Riot, Everyday I Love You Less and Less, Ruby, Never Miss A Beat and Hole In My Soul.

They have released eight studio albums, among them their Mercury-nominated debut Employment, which sold more than two million copies, its Number 1 follow-up Yours Truly, Angry Mob, which went twice-platinum in the UK, and Education Education Education and War, which also entered the UK Album Charts at Number 1.

The band have had top ten singles including the Number 1 hit Ruby, won three BRIT Awards and an Ivor Novello for Album of the Year, toured with U2, Foo Fighters and Green Day, and sold eight million albums.

Julian Murray, of promoters Cuffe and Taylor, who programme events at Scarborough Open Air Theatre, said the show would be a "momentous" one.

"You can't not love a night with Kaiser Chiefs. They always bring the party and where better to do that than Scarborough," he said.

"This will be a truly momentous show next summer and we can't wait."
