North Yorkshire Police say there are no plans to do fresh searches of Claudia Lawrence's home.

She's presumed dead after she disappeared in March 2009 - and today would've been her 51st birthday.

The Chef was last seen walking home and made phone calls to her parents that evening.

She failed to turn up for her 6am shift at the University of York the next day.

North Yorkshire Police believe she was murdered, although a body has never been found.

There's been reports over the last 24 hours about detectives potentially searching a hidden loft.

But the force have told us the new Senior Investigating Officer would like to visit Claudia’s home for 'familiarisation purposes only'.

A police spokesperson said:

“The new Senior Investigating Officer intends to visit Claudia’s home for familiarisation purposes only, this is not for the purpose of conducting any operational or forensic enquiries.”
