Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy after a serious collision near Scarborough.#

It happened shortly in the early hours (7 February) on Seamer Road, near the Hyundai Garage. A red Citroen C1 collided with a telegraph pole.

A 16‑year‑old boy, who was a passenger in the vehicle, is in a serious condition in hospital.

A 17‑year‑old boy has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences and is currently in police custody.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.
