Police are appealing for witnesses and footage after reports of offensive chants at the York City vs Forest Green game on Saturday 7th February.

Officers say the obscene language is believed to have come from home supporters.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said abuse has no place in football, and they take these incidents extremely seriously.

As part of their investigation, officers are looking for witnesses or anyone with information.

Reports can be made by emailing [email protected] or by calling 101 and asking for Carl Barnes, quoting reference number 12260023464.
