York 10K returns with thousands ready to run for charity
Excitement builds for the summer event bringing communities together in York
York is set to welcome thousands of runners, volunteers, and supporters as the York 10K returns today (2nd August) bringing energy, fundraising, and celebration to the historic city.
Organised by Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, the event attracts participants of all ages and abilities, with enthusiastic spectators lining the route to encourage them.
The scenic course takes participants past notable landmarks such as Clifford’s Tower, York Minster, and the medieval city walls, starting at 9.30am on Knavesmire Road, close to York racecourse, and concluding on the Knavesmire.
The event supports numerous charities, encouraging entrants to fundraise for personal causes or official partners like the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Family Fund, RSPCA, and York Against Cancer.
Younger runners can also partake with the York Mini and Junior Runs starting at 12pm, where children aged 3 to 14 can earn a medal and celebrate their accomplishments.
