Woman dies after two-car collision on A19 near Thirsk

A woman has died following a two-car crash on the A19 near Great Thirkleby, close to Thirsk.

Officers say the collision involved a grey BMW travelling north and a Skoda Fabia travelling south, at about 2.20pm on Wednesday 1 July 2026.

The driver of the Skoda, a woman, died at the scene.

The driver of the BMW, a woman, was taken to hospital with injuries.

Officers are now appealing for anyone with information or footage to contact them.
