Conservative Party chairman Kevin Hollinrake has been cleared of breaching parliamentary rules following allegations he attempted to influence an investigation involving another MP.

Accusations suggested Mr Hollinrake attempted to lobby parliamentary standards commissioner Daniel Greenberg by sending a letter on 22nd May regarding the ongoing investigation.

Parliamentary regulations prohibit MPs from influencing the commissioner’s investigations through lobbying efforts.

However, a report issued on 15th October concluded that Mr Hollinrake did not attempt to lobby the commissioner nor breach parliamentary rules.

Details of the case remain confidential as the investigation continues, with the committee indicating they will publish a full report once the investigation has concluded.

Currently, two ongoing investigations from May remain active. One involves actions by Independent MP James McMurdock, while the other investigates Nigel Farage's failure to declare a £5 million gift from crypto-billionaire Christopher Harborne.
