Police are appealing for information after a deliberate fire involving hay bales in South Milford on the evening of 31st July 2026.
The blaze occurred in fields near Milford Road, and following an investigation, authorities believe the fire was intentionally set.
Swift actions by landowners and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service helped control and extinguish the flames, preventing further damage and stopping the fire from spreading to nearby areas.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance, particularly from anyone who was in Milford Road on the evening of the fire and saw any suspicious behaviour.
Individuals with CCTV, dash-cam, or mobile footage capturing unusual activity are encouraged to contact North Yorkshire Police.
