Police up patrols in North Yorkshire after reports of attempted abduction

North Yorkshire Police have upped patrols outside a school in York, after reports of an attempted abduction.

The force were called to Westfield Primary yesterday (10 June) to reports of a safeguarding incident.

Officers confirmed all children are safe, but a full investigation is underway.

In a statement, a North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We received reports of a safeguarding incident in the area around Westfield Primary School, York, at around 9.10am.

“Patrols have been stepped up in the area to provide reassurance to parents and the wider community.

“All children are safe and an investigation in under way to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
