Man jailed for stabbing teenager in York who feared for his life

A man who stabbed a teenager who feared for his life in York has been jailed for 52 months.

45-year-old Philip Noble attacked a 17-year-old boy on Baker Street last June, severing an artery in his thigh.

Noble cycled away from the scene.

The victim needed emergency surgery and later told officers he feared he would die.

Noble was identified through CCTV and arrested.

In initial police interviews, he made no comment.

He later pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public place.
