Pair to face no action after fatal collision near Colburn

Two men investigated over a fatal crash near Colburn involving a mobility scooter and a military truck have been released without charge.

70 year-old John Robert Mitchell, was riding the scooter when it collided with the truck close to the British Army base at Catterick Garrison, on 11 June last year.

North Yorkshire Police stated: "An extensive collision investigation has been completed into the tragic death of Mr Mitchell.

"It concluded that no further action will be taken against the two men who were in the military truck. They have been released without charge."
