Motorcyclist dies after crash near Westow as police renew witness appeal
A second rider remains in hospital with serious injuries
A motorcyclist has died following a crash involving two riders near Westow earlier this month.
North Yorkshire Police say the two men were riding motorbikes on Mook Street when they crashed at around 10.35am on Sunday 2nd August 2026.
Both were airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
One rider has died
Police have confirmed one of the riders has died after a short period in hospice care.
The second rider remains in hospital with serious injuries.
Appeal for witnesses
Officers are renewing their appeal for anyone who saw the crash or the motorbikes involved to come forward.
They want to hear from anyone who saw either a yellow Yamaha motorcycle or a white Honda motorcycle in the area at around the time of the crash and has not yet spoken to police.
