Motorcycle rider dies after collision near Stapleton

A motorcyclist in his 60s has died after a collision between the villages Stapleton and Barton.

The green Kawasaki he was riding came together with a white Vauxhall Vivaro van on Stapleton Bank at the junction with Cleasby Lane on Thursday 25 June.

A passenger on the motorbike was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the van is helping officers with their enquiries.

North Yorkshire Police is asking any witnesses to come forward.
