Man in his forties seriously injured after car leaves A64 near York

Crash near York led to road closure and police appeal for witnesses

A man in his forties is in a serious condition following a car crash on the A64 Eastbound near York.

The accident occurred shortly before 8am on Sunday, 26th April 2026, just past the A659 York Road on slip, involving a silver Honda Jazz.

The vehicle left the carriageway and crashed into a tree.

Emergency services airlifted the sole occupant to Leeds General Infirmary.

The road was closed until about 1.30pm for forensic investigations.

North Yorkshire Police are seeking witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident.
