Drug driver jailed following police pursuit in York
Lee Oakley has been jailed for over two years
A drug driver from Stockton has been jailed following what police have called a dangerous pursuit in York.
44-year-old Lee Oakley admitted dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and drug driving.
Officers were called out last February to the city centre following information that a vehicle was using cloned plates.
Police tried to stop the driver but he sped off, running through red lights and mounting the pavement multiple times.
He collided with the police car and another vehicle.
It was discovered that Oakley was already disqualified from driving until May 2027.
He was drugs tested and tested positive for cocaine.
Moreover, the car he was driving had false number plates and had been stolen from the Greater Manchester area around six months before.
Oakley has been jailed for two-years-and-16-weeks and disqualified from driving for 61 months.
