Selby woman jailed after threatening paramedic and firefighter with broken bottle
Jessica Louise Simms also damaged a police cell and breached a community protection notice
A 20-year-old woman from Selby has been jailed for 12 months after threatening a paramedic and a firefighter with a broken bottle.
Jessica Louise Simms, of The Crescent, also damaged a police cell.
On 17 September, emergency workers went to help Simms before she threatened them with the broken bottle.
She was then taken to a police station, where she damaged the cell.
The same day, Simms also went into Selby train station despite being banned from entering it under a community protection notice.
The notice was put in place following previous convictions for assaulting a police officer, impersonating a police officer and causing the wasteful employment of police.
Simms pleaded guilty to two counts of threatening someone with an offensive weapon, criminal damage and breaching a community protection notice.
She's been sent to a young offenders' institution for 12 months and ordered to pay £79 in compensation and a £187 surcharge.
She was also given three months' detention for the assault on a police officer. That sentence will run at the same time as the 12-month sentence.
