Investigation launched after assault on York's Ouse Bridge

Police have arrested two men on suspicion of assault

Two men have been arrested after an assault on Ouse Bridge in York (15 June).

The force were called to the bridge at around 1.40am and it was temporarily cordoned off to allow investigations to take place.

It has since reopened.

Officers say two men and a woman suffered injuries in the incident.

One of the men was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

A man in his 20s and a man in his 40s, both from the York area, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and are currently in police custody (16 June).

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
