Hugh Bonneville to headline fundraising evening for Ripon Theatre Festival
Actor's appearance to support community arts initiative
Acclaimed actor Hugh Bonneville will make a special appearance in Ripon for a fundraising evening to support the Ripon Theatre Festival.
Known for his roles in Downton Abbey and Paddington, Bonneville will appear at Holy Trinity on 21st November at 7pm, sharing insights into his celebrated career and love for theatre.
Profits from the event will benefit Ripon Theatre Festival, helping the volunteer-led charity continue its mission to bring accessible and affordable live performances to the city.
Bonneville will engage in conversation with Anna Wallace, former BBC Radio York presenter, reflecting the region's ties to the Downton Abbey franchise and celebrating the actor's role as a children's author.
Attendees will have the chance to purchase signed copies of Hugh's new book, Rory Sparkes and the Spy Who Loved Tea, published by Bloomsbury.
The festival represents a major cultural initiative, reaching beyond traditional venues to engage local communities and schools with creative programmes.
Director Katie Scott expressed gratitude for the support: "Having Hugh Bonneville support Ripon Theatre Festival in this way is incredibly special for us."
Sponsored by Hethertons Solicitors, the event promises a unique opportunity to bolster the festival's efforts in promoting arts throughout Ripon.
Tickets for the evening are available online, offering a blend of entertainment and valuable support for local arts.
