Four teenagers seriously injured in overnight collision in Sherburn in Elmet

Four people have suffered serious injuries following a single-vehicle collision in Sherburn in Elmet during the early hours of this morning (Saturday, 10 October).

North Yorkshire Police said the incident involved a red SEAT Ibiza on Coldhill Lane at around 2.50am.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the vehicle’s four occupants, three aged 17 and one aged 18, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police are now appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or seen the car shortly before the incident.

Officers are also keen to hear from motorists who were travelling in the area and may have captured relevant footage on their dashcams.

In particular, investigators want to identify the driver of a white pick-up truck featuring a yellow stripe along its side. The vehicle is believed to have been in the area around the time of the collision and may have seen the SEAT Ibiza in the moments beforehand.

Anyone with information, dashcam footage or details that could assist the investigation is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police.
