Four arrested after confrontation on York cycle path

A group of people involved in a disturbance left two injured

Four people have been arrested in connection with a disturbance on a cycle path off Wigginton Road in York.

Police were alerted by the ambulance service at approximately 11.10am on Saturday, 15th August.

The altercation involved a group of individuals, resulting in two people sustaining injuries.

One of the injured received hospital treatment for minor knife wounds, while the other suffered more serious injuries, believed to have been inflicted with a wooden object.

Among the four arrested are three 16-year-old boys and a 64-year-old man.

They were taken in on suspicion of wounding with intent.

All four have been released on police bail to allow for further investigations.
