Haqeem Hussain, a 28-year-old from Bradford, has been imprisoned following his involvement in a county lines drug operation, supplying Class A drugs into York.

Sentenced at York Crown Court on 12th October, Hussain pleaded guilty to charges relating to the supply of drugs through a network known as the "AX Line."

Officers from North Yorkshire Police’s Operation Sentry, a team tackling serious organised crime, discovered wraps of heroin and crack cocaine intended for street sale during a search at Hussain's home. The drugs were found alongside the dealer phone used to operate the AX Line.

Analysis showed Hussain's personal mobile was linked to drug-related journeys from West Yorkshire to North Yorkshire, and bulk messages sent from the AX Line phone evidenced the supply network.

Hussain received a sentence of three years and six months and was ordered to pay a £228 victim surcharge.

Police Constable Damion Liversidge emphasized the impact of the drug supply on communities, thanking the proactive work of officers leading to Hussain’s conviction.

Operation Sentry continues to dismantle county lines networks, urging the public to report any drug-related activity anonymously via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
