A teenager is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a double-decker bus on Boroughbridge Road in York.

Emergency services say they received reports at around 7pm yesterday (10th December) that a girl had been hit by a double-decker bus.

The girl was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

The road was closed for around six hours as investigation work took place.

No arrests have been made and officers say the bus driver is cooperating with the investigation.

A North Yorkshire police spokesperson said, "We’re appealing for any witnesses to the collision, any passengers on the bus at the time of collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us.
