Boil order lifted for North Yorkshire residents
It comes after a tap water bacteria alert
Yorkshire Water have confirmed a "boil order" issued for parts of North Yorkshire has been lifted.
It comes after some tap water was found to contain higher than usual levels of a type of bacteria.
The water company put the order in place after coliform was found in tap water in Bentham, High Bentham, Low Bentham and Burton in Lonsdale.
Yorkshire Water officially lifted the order yesterday (14 May).
A spokesperson said: "We can confirm that we have lifted the boil water instruction at all affected properties in the local area as the water is now back to our usual high standards. Customers can now use their tap water as normal.
"We’d like to apologise to everybody impacted and thank them for their understanding and patience throughout."
