Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A59 near Flaxby on 7th October.

The crash occurred at approximately 3.30pm and involved a black Vauxhall Corsa travelling towards Harrogate.

Sadly, the female driver of the Corsa was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have expressed their condolences to her family.

The road remains closed while specialist investigators examine the scene, and motorists are advised to use alternative routes.

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, saw the Corsa prior to the crash, or has dashcam footage from that time.

Officers are also looking to speak with the driver of a white HGV that was travelling in the opposite direction, as they may have information vital to the investigation.
