Man arrested on suspicion of murder following death of a woman in Wythenshawe

A murder investigation is underway following the death of a woman in Wythenshawe.
Police were called to a home on Lulworth Gardens, in Baguley, at around 8:30am this morning (27 January), following reports of a disturbance.
Emergency services attended the address and found a woman, in her 30s, unresponsive. Despite efforts by officers and medical staff, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody for questioning.
Police urge witnesses to come forward
Superintendent Gayle Brister said the investigation is still in its early stages but reassured the public that officers are working hard to establish all the details.
"We understand it may cause concern across our communities, however we believe there is no wider risk to the public.
"Specialist officers are in place to support the family throughout the investigation.
"We currently have a man in custody and a police cordon remains in place at the scene. I urge anyone with information or any witnesses to please come forward and report."
