Wigan Athletic has parted ways with manager Ryan Lowe after a significant loss to Peterborough United.

The decision comes after the Latics suffered a 6-1 defeat and slipped into the relegation zone.

Ryan Lowe, who had been at the helm for 11 months, managed just 12 wins in 49 matches.

In the interim, Glenn Whelan and Graham Barrow have been appointed as caretaker managers.

The duo will lead the team while Wigan searches for a new permanent head coach.
