Teenager who died in Bury named as Mohammed Afzal

An investigation into his death is ongoing and three suspects remain in custody

A man who died in Bury on Friday (1 August) has been named as Mohammed Afzal, known to his loved ones as Isa.

An investigation is ongoing and three suspects remain in custody.

19-year-old, Mohammed, was attacked just before 9pm in a car park on Market Street.

He sustained stab wounds and died later from his injuries.

An investigation, led by GMP's Major Incident Team, is currently ongoing and three 19-year-old male suspects remain in custody after being arrested over the weekend.

Mohammed’s family are being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time.
