A serving West Yorkshire Police officer has been cleared of non-recent child sexual offences.

Kirklees-based PC Marcus Newbold, 30, was found not guilty at Leeds Crown Court of rape a girl under 13, assault a girl under 13 by penetration, four counts of assault a girl under 13 by touching and two counts of cause/incite a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.

He has been suspended from duty since the offences were reported in 2022.

His case will now be reviewed by policing bosses.
