West Yorkshire Police officer charged with drink driving offence

A West Yorkshire Police officer has been charged with drink driving.

3\2 year old Lewis Goddard - who is based in the Leeds District - was arrested after he allegedly drove to work under the influence of alcohol.

He was arrested at the police station, he's since been suspended from duty.

A Police statement said:

"A West Yorkshire Police officer has been charged with a drink driving offence.

"PC Lewis Goddard, aged 32, who is based in Leeds District, has been charged with driving whilst over the prescribed limit. He is due to appear at York Magistrates Court on 16 April.

"The charge relates to an incident on the afternoon of 17 February when it is alleged that he has driven his personal vehicle to Stainbeck Police Station to commence a work shift while under the influence of alcohol.

"He was arrested at the police station and charged the next day. He has been suspended from duty since that time."
