A walk to honour a teenager from Wakefield is happening today.

16-year-old Nadia Mucha died after being found seriously injured on Rooks Nest Road.

A 25-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

On a memorial page: "Our community is heartbroken by the tragic loss of 16 year old Nadia.

"In her memory, we are coming together on Saturday 17th October to walk a local route around Outwood and Stanley, aiming to complete 22,000 steps, a goal Nadia often challenged herself to achieve.

"This walk is our way of honouring her life while also helping to support her family during an unimaginably difficult time.

"Any donation, however big or small, would be greatly appreciated and will go directly towards supporting Nadia's family.

"Thank you for standing with us and showing such incredible kindness."
