Willie Peters criticises ‘really poor’ Hull KR after Wakefield bear defending champions at home
Prop Caius Faatili scored two second-half tries in the visitors’ 20-6 victory, Hull’s fourth loss in the last seven.
Concerned Hull KR head coach Willie Peters called for accountability after Wakefield inflicted the defending champions’ first home defeat in a year.
Prop Caius Faatili scored two second-half tries in the visitors’ 20-6 victory, Hull’s fourth loss in the last seven.
“Players need to be accountable, staff need to be accountable,” said Peters.
“The scoreline said it was 20-6 but I’m not bothered about the scoreline, I’m bothered about performance and that was a really, really poor performance.
“I’ve just let them know where I think we’re at and I’m honest with them. We’ve had a few performances like that and that’s the concerning part.
“Credit to Wakefield, they played well, simple but effective.”
Wakefield’s double over Hull KR strengthened their grip on the top four.
“I feel like we’re moving towards everybody believing that it doesn’t matter who we play, if we’re all connected and tuned in, we’re going to be all right,” said head coach Daryl Powell.
Brodie Croft’s second hat-trick of the season saw leaders Leeds cruise to a 28-6 win over Catalans Dragons, their first in Perpignan since 2002, to restore their four-point advantage but it was not without cost.
“We lost Cooper Jenkins early because he had blurred vision after 15 minutes,” said head coach Brad Arthur.
“Mikolaj (Oledzki) had a bit of a stinger and didn’t come back on. He could have, but we didn’t need to put him back out there.
“There were some big performances. I thought Chris Hankinson was really tough.”
