Three jailed over Dewsbury assault where victim almost lost leg
A man was attacked with machetes in Dewsbury last May.

Three men have been sentenced for their involvement in a brutal assault that nearly led to the victim losing leg in Dewsbury.
Sabeel Ayub, 33, Faizaan Bashir, 26, and Fahim Iqbal, 35, were sentenced to 14 years and eight months, and two 12-year terms respectively, after admitting to wounding with intent.
It comes after an attack on May 15 2025, where a 23-year-old man was assaulted with machetes on Ravens Crescent in Scout Hill.
Detective Constable Callum Wallace of West Yorkshire Police said:
"This was clearly a planned and targeted attack with these three men showing that they were prepared to use extreme levels of violence to meet their ends."
"The victim was rushed to hospital and very nearly lost his leg as a result of the injuries inflicted on him."
"I hope members of the public are reassured that these three men are now behind bars."
Detectives are actively searching for two other suspects involved in the incident.
Faisal Ali, 33, from Dewsbury, and Kessar Iqbal, 33, who was last known to be living in Airdrie in North Lanarkshire are both being sought.
