One youth club in West Yorkshire is seeing record numbers of young people walk through their doors each month.

The Hunslet Club in Leeds has over 1000 people attend monthly, with around 100 attendees at their Thursday-night free youth club event.

It comes as according to Unison the union in 2024, funding cuts have led to the closure of more than two thirds of council-run youth centres in England and Wales since 2010.

One kid, Alex said if he wasn't at the youth club, he'd probably be at home on his tablet. It's not just about getting children out though.

"Chris Boyce is the Sports Manager, he said it can help young people on the right path: "We're just offering the kids what they want really, just getting them off the streets, into sports of the youth club."
