Two arrested after pro-Palestine protestors crash van into gates at West Yorkshire defence firm
Police were called to Teledyne in Baildon this morning
Two people have been arrested after a van was crashed into the front gates of a West Yorkshire defence manufacturers this morning.
The move, by pro-Palestine protest group Palestine Action, saw a vehicle weighed down with concrete ram the security bollards at Teledyne, at Acorn Park in Baildon.
Demonstrators then locked themselves to the concrete and refused to move.
In a video on social media, a member of the group said: "We are here to celebrate a free Palestine in our lifetime."
"In the most basic possible terms (we want to) ensure a world where children get to live with all their limbs intact."
The same company was targeted by protestors last year who climbed onto the roof of the building.
Teledyne Space and Defence supplies components to the defence and aerospace industries, which are said to have been used in weapons supplied to Israel.
West Yorkshire Police say specialist resources were deployed to the scene.
A 27 year old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit criminal damage alongside a 44 year old woman.
Both remain in police custody.
