Teenager dies in hospital after being hit by taxi in Leeds
18 year old Owen Ford was seriously injured close to the University of Leeds earlier this month
An 18-year-old who was hit by a taxi in Leeds earlier this month has died in hospital.
Now named as Owen Ford, the teenager was struck in the area of Blenheim Terrace, near the junction with Hillary Place, at around midnight on March 5.
A silver Toyota Prius private hire car was the only vehicle involved.
The driver, a 55-year-old man from Leeds, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and is currently in custody.
Officers are eager to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it.
They are particularly interested in dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage.
