Two people have been injured after a BMW M3 failed to stop when requested to do so by police in Bradford.

It happened this morning just before 5:30am on Canal Road.

A pursuit was authorised and West Yorkshire Police said 'the vehicle turned into Kings Road, where it was almost immediately involved in a collision with two parked cars.'

The driver and the female occupant of the BMW were taken to hospital where they were found to have suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

West Yorkshire Police said a scene is in place covering both sides of Kings Road and Swain House Road after.

The force said it is likely to remain in place for a few more hours today and people are advised to avoid the area while recovery and scene examination work continues.
