Castleford head coach Ryan Carr to miss Hull KR crash due to 'personal reasons'

Castleford head coach Ryan Carr will be absent from Friday’s Betfred Super League clash against Hull KR because of “personal reasons”.

The Tigers confirmed director of rugby operations Chris Chester and coaching pair Rob Nickolay and Scott Murrell will oversee the team for the visit of Rovers to the OneBore Stadium.

Adrian Vowles, who became the first Castleford player to win the Man of Steel award in 1999, will support the trio as he is back at the club this week for a function.

Carr was appointed to his position ahead of this season on a three-year contract and has presided over seven wins and 14 defeats – although they have been beaten in five of their last six matches.
