Police are appealing for information about two men wanted in connection with drug dealing in Bradford, as another man has been jailed for over seven years.

Ali Hussain, 36, of Sunrise Court, was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on Wednesday 19th November.

He admitted conspiracy to supply Class A drugs after moving 20 kilos of heroin from Birmingham to Leeds during the Covid lockdown in May 2020. Hussain was jailed for seven years and five months.

He also received a 12-month concurrent sentence for possession of cannabis with intent to supply after he was found with two kilos of the drug in March 2021.

Detectives have renewed their appeal to locate 44-year-old Shafiqul Islam Ali, formerly of Grafton Street, Bradford.

Ali was convicted in his absence of conspiracy to supply two kilos of heroin, possession with intent to supply cocaine, and possession of criminal property.

He failed to appear at Leeds Crown Court for sentencing in January 2023, at which he was handed a 14-year sentence. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Ali is described as an Asian man, 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build, with short black hair and brown eyes. He is known to have connections in Leeds, Bradford, and Birmingham.

Wanted: Yakub Miah, also known as Mohammed Kazi

Also wanted is 52-year-old Yakub Miah, also known as Mohammed Kazi, who was charged in his absence for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Miah is awaiting trial. He is described as an Asian man, 5ft 4ins tall, of medium build, with short black hair and brown eyes, and is believed to have links to Leeds.

Detective Inspector Chris Rukin, of West Yorkshire Police, said:

"I’m pleased that Hussain has been brought to justice and will serve a lengthy sentence for an offence that causes serious harm to our communities here in West Yorkshire."

"Our focus now turns to ensuring that Ali also serves his sentence and that Miah is brought before the courts. I would urge anyone with information about their whereabouts to contact us."

Anyone with details about Shafiqul Islam Ali or Yakub Miah's whereabouts is encouraged to contact West Yorkshire Police on 101.
