Patrick Bamford told he is not in Leeds' plans by Farke
Leeds boss Daniel Farke told the long-serving striker he is not in their Premier League return plans.
Leeds boss Daniel Farke has told long-serving striker Patrick Bamford that he is not in his plans for their Premier League return.
The 31-year-old arrived at Elland Road from Middlesbrough in 2018 and has been impacted by injuries in recent seasons, making just 18 appearances in all competitions last term.
Bamford was not in the Championship winners' squad for Saturday's 0-0 friendly draw with Manchester United in Stockholm and Farke says the one-cap England international is set to leave Leeds.
"I had a really, really open and honest conversation with him and it's quite important for me because Patrick knows exactly how much I value him as a player," Farke told reporters after the game.
"I've spoken several times about this and that I would have preferred a completely fit Patrick Bamford in the last two seasons.
"He also knows how much I rate him also as a person and for that I thought it was my duty to have a very honest and open conversation straight away with him.
"I think it was the second day in pre-season when I got him into my office and I told him that he's not in my plans for the upcoming Premier League season."
