Elderly woman suffers 'potentially life-changing injuries' in Normanton crash

A woman has suffered potentially life changing injuries following a crash in Normanton, Wakefield, yesterday afternoon.

West Yorkshire Police say they were called to Princess Street yesterday at around 3:15pm, following reports a woman had been hit by a black Kia Picanto.

It's believed she was walking up the High Street towards Castleford Road before crossing Princess Street.

The victim, in her 80s, was taken to hospital with life changing but not life threatening injuries.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene.

West Yorkshire Police are urging witnesses, or anyone who captured dashcam footage in the area at the time, to contact them on 101.
