Last updated 20th Nov 2025
A murder investigation is underway after Police found the body of a man in Huddersfield yesterday (19/11/2025).
Officers say they found the body at the former brewery premises on Willow Lane.
The man was identified last night as missing Andrew Bray (also known as Andrew Boltwood), aged 40, from Huddersfield who had been reported missing.
Detectives believed Andrew had been the victim of an assault prior to being reported missing and are continuing to conduct enquires at the scene today.
A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death and Andrew’s family have been made aware of the latest development.
DCI Michael Cox of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said:
“Multiple active enquiries are ongoing today by detectives into Andrew’s death.
“While a formal post mortem is to take place, we do believe Andrew was assaulted prior to his body being found and, following enquires at the scene, are treating the incident as a murder investigation.
“I am appealing for witnesses and information and would particularly like to hear from anyone who saw suspicious behaviour in or around the former brewery site last weekend.”
“Any very serious incident, such as a murder, obviously causes shock in local communities and I can assure residents a full investigation is underway into what occurred.
“Local NPT officers are patrolling in the area and working to reassure members of the community.”
