Motorcyclist has dies after a crash in Calderdale
A motorcyclist has died after a crash in Calderdale.
Police were called to Saddleworth Road in Greetland to a collision between a van and a Yamaha bike.
A 29 year old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Police statement said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died in a collision earlier today in the Greetland area of Calderdale.
"Police received a report at 10.20am of a collision involving a Fiat Ducato van and a Yamaha MT motorcycle on Saddleworth Road at the junction with Gate Head Lane.
"The motorcyclist, a 29-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and sadly died at the scene. His immediate family have been informed.
"A 24-year-old man has been interviewed after being arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and released on bail.
"Officers from the Major Collision Enquiry Team are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this collision or the events leading up to it. Motorists who were in the area who have dashcams are asked to check whether they have captured any relevant footage."
