A popular beauty spot will be get £145,000 worth of improvements after funding was approved by the council.
Scarth Gardens in Morley is set for an upgrade which includes new footpaths, bulb planting and a sculpture trail.
Leeds City Council said a consultation was carried out on the proposals as part of the Morley Town Deal project.
A city council report said work was due to start by the end of November.
It said: “Enhancements to the park will create a more positive outdoor experience for local people of all ages.
“The scheme will aim to support the mental and physical health and well-being of residents, as well as helping to improve local air quality. ”
The project includes a new access ramp, the refurbishment of existing steps and new artistic fencing, the report said.
It said: “The additional planting will increase ambience and biodiversity within the green space.
“It will also provide ecological benefits that are sustainable in the long term.”
It is hoped the project, drawn up with the help of Groundwork Yorkshire, will attract more visitors to the town.
The report added: “Economically, the project will make the area more attractive and safer, potentially increasing footfall, benefiting local businesses and attracting new investments.”
The project is part of a programme of improvements to parks and green spaces within the Morley Town Deal boundary.
