Daniel Farke said Leeds bosses know "exactly what I think we need to do" in the transfer market before the current window closes on February 2.

The club have so far added only Argentina midfielder Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton and appear to have missed out on signing Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Leeds are reported to have made an improved £40million offer for Strand Larsen, while Crystal Palace have agreed a fee in the region of £50m with Wolves for the Norway international.

Farke, whose press conference on Thursday was delayed by 45 minutes after he struggled to get his car to start, said: "The club knows exactly what I think we need to do, they are aware of this, but I'm not willing to give too much away before the window is ended.

"If I was to tell you we need another number eight - I use this as an example because we don't need an eight - a potential club in negotiations knows this and the price goes up.

"It makes no sense to mention the position we're desperate to do something in, there will be no public statements from me, the club knows my thoughts. I can give you an assessment after the window is closed. We're in a very relaxed and good situation."

Leeds will be without Jaka Bijol, Dan James and Lukas Nmecha (all hamstring) for Saturday's home Premier League game against Arsenal, while Gabriel Gudmundsson (adductor) remains doubtful.

Farke said theses injuries would not influence any decisions in the transfer market, adding: "Not because of injuries. Lukas and Jaka we have chances to have them back for (next week's) Nottingham (Forest) game, Gabi has a chance for the Arsenal game. It doesn't change our plans at all."
