Leeds have signed Switzerland international Nico Elvedi from Borussia Monchengladbach.

Elvedi, who played in every minute of his country’s run to the World Cup quarter-finals this summer, has joined for an initial £6.5million rising to £8.5m with add-ons, the Press Association understands.

Elvedi previously worked under Leeds boss Daniel Farke at Gladbach, and becomes the club’s fourth summer signing ahead of Saturday’s Premier League opener at Nottingham Forest.

His arrival follows the earlier exit of defender Sebastiaan Bornauw, who has signed for Hamburg on a season-long loan deal.

The 27-year-old will spend the 2026-27 campaign at the Bundesliga outfit after only making 17 appearances at Elland Road since his 2025 arrival from Wolfsburg.
